Why We Collect Your Information
ITK Insurance is a Virginia-licensed insurance agency authorized to assist consumers with applying for and enrolling in health coverage through Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. We collect personal information only as necessary to help you complete or update a Marketplace application, determine eligibility for available coverage and financial assistance, compare coverage options, enroll in coverage, and provide ongoing assistance related to your Marketplace coverage.
Information We May Collect
To assist you with your Marketplace application and enrollment, ITK Insurance may collect:
- Identifying and contact information
- Household and family information
- Income and employment information
- Social Security numbers when required for an application or eligibility verification
- Citizenship or immigration information when applicable to an individual seeking coverage
- Health coverage information necessary to complete a Marketplace application
Information is generally provided directly by you verbally by telephone or in person and entered into Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace System.
Your Consent
ITK Insurance obtains your consent before accessing or using your personal information to assist you with Marketplace coverage. Consent may be provided verbally by telephone or in person. Telephone conversations may be recorded. ITK Insurance maintains documentation of consumer consent as required by Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace. Your consent allows ITK Insurance to use your information for the purpose of assisting you with Marketplace-related eligibility, application, enrollment, and coverage services. You may withdraw your consent by emailing Maria@ITKinsurance.com. Withdrawal of consent may limit ITK Insurance’s ability to continue assisting you with your Marketplace coverage.
How Your Information Is Used and Shared
Your personal information is used only as necessary to provide Marketplace-related assistance. Information entered into Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace may be provided through the Marketplace to insurance carriers and other entities involved in determining eligibility or completing your enrollment, as permitted or required by law. ITK Insurance does not sell your personal information or disclose Marketplace PII to unrelated third parties for marketing purposes. You may contact ITK Insurance to request information about disclosures of your personal information.
How We Protect Your Information
ITK Insurance takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Safeguards include password-protected computer systems, secured customer relationship management records, and secured office and file storage. Personal information maintained within Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace is also subject to the Marketplace’s privacy and security requirements.
Providing Information Is Your Choice
Providing personal information to ITK Insurance is voluntary. However, certain information may be required by Virginia’s Insurance Marketplace or applicable law to determine eligibility, verify information, obtain financial assistance, or enroll you in coverage. If you choose not to provide information required for these purposes, ITK Insurance may be unable to complete or assist with your Marketplace application or enrollment.
